View SRDF protected device groups

Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) facilitates the data replication from one storage system to another through a storage area network or Internet Protocol (IP) network.

About this task

The SRDF dashboard provides you with a single place to monitor and manage SRDF sessions on a storage system, including device groups types R1, R2, and R21. See Manage remote replication sessions for additional information.

Before you begin:

The following configurations are not supported:

An R21 or R22 SRDF device that is associated with a system running HYPERMAX OS 5977.
A cascaded SRDF configuration that contains a system running HYPERMAX OS 5977.
A concurrent R22 configuration that contains a system running HYPERMAX OS 5977.

To access the SRDF dashboard:

Steps

Select the storage system.
Select Data Protection > Device Groups.
Click SRDF .
The following properties display:
- Device Group—device group name
- Standard—Number of standard volumes
- BCV—Number of BCV volumes
- State—Current state of device group
- Group Type—device group type
- Group Valid—Indicates if the group is valid or invalid for SRDF management.
The following controls are available:
- Establish— Establish SRDF pairs
- Split— Split SRDF pairs
- Suspend— Suspend SRDF pairs
- Restore— Restore SRDF pairs
- Resume— Resume SRDF links
- Failover— Failover
- Failback— Failback
- Swap— Swap SRDF personalities
- Set SRDF/A— Set SRDF/A controls to prevent cache overflow
- Set Consistency— Set consistency protection
- Move— Move SRDF pairs
- Invalidate— Invalidate R1 or R2 volumes
- Ready— Make R1 or R2 volumes ready
- Not Ready— Make R1 or R2 volumes not ready
- R1 Update— Update R1 volumes
- RW Enable — Read or Write Enable R1 or R2 Volumes
- Write Disable— Read or Write disable R1 or R2 volumes
- RW Disable R2s— Read or Write disable R2 volumes
- Refresh— Refresh R1 or R2 volumes
- Set Mode— Set SRDF mode
- Delete Pair— Delete SRDF pairs
